前阵子翻的一页手册,修改了下贴上来。蓝色的部分不怎么有把握。

International MUJI
国际化的无印良品

MUJI expresses “affluence arising from nothing.”
无印传达“有生于无”的概念。

This is a traditional Japanese aesthetic. But as MUJI products have gained currency around the globe, expert designers from everywhere have contacted us to tell us that the MUJI concept strikes a chord in them. Some have already amplified MUJI with their designs.

这是传统的日本美学。而随着无印产品的全球流通,无印的概念已引起各地专业设计师的共鸣。一些设计师已经用自己的设计扩充了无印的产品。

But MUJI is not and will never be a venue for designers’ idiosyncrasies. MUJI is a receptacle for their experiences as designers and as people.

但无印永远不会成为设计师个人风格的集合。无印是一个容器,吸纳他们作为设计师和普通人的经验。

MUJI is a reservoir of superb design that recognizes the wisdom of individuals from every region and country on the planet.

无印所汇集的优秀设计体现着全球各个国家和地区的个人智慧。

So the MUJI product, no matter its origin, is never the exclusive product of an individual, but rather a universal practice that has been discovered, and translated into form.

因此无印的产品,无论来自何处,从不是个人专用品,而是一种被体察并被物化的普遍经验。

A MUJI product may not carry a designer’s name or a nation’s flag, but will instead absorb the designer’s experience and the insight of his or her nation- it will naturally evince the realm where the designer discovers the essence of things. And so there can be MUJI emanating from Germany, MUJI originating in China, MUJI grounded in the Netherlands...

无印的产品或许不标明设计师的名字或者国家的标记,但会吸收设计师的经验及他所属民族的睿智,从而自然地反映出设计师发现事物本质的所在地。因此,我们会有德国的无印、中国的无印、荷兰的无印......

By its very definition, MUJI embraces all ways of thought, and allows for their discovery and expression within its forms. The designers who are inspired by MUJI are our potential collaborators- designers who likewise inspire us with their strength and intelligence.

正如其本身所定义的那样,无印接纳所有的思想方法,允许它们以自己的形式发现和表达。受到无印启发的设计师是我们潜在的合作伙伴-这些设计师也同样以他们的力量和智慧给予我们灵感。

We happily anticipate their alliance. The traditional Japanese foundation of MUJI- essence, minimalism, and anonymity- will always remain.

我们期待与他们合作。而无印的传统日本根基-精要、极简、无标记-将永不改变。

But here, by opening more stores in many countries, we begin to explore a more solid universal practice, and a fully international exchange.

在此,借助在各国开设更多的门店,我们开始寻求更为一致的普遍经验和充分的国际交流。
